1.Did you always want to be a writer?
As soon as I learned to read I fell in love with books but that young I had no story or voice yet. I kept diary and journals from a very young age. But it wasn't until I re-read them as an adult that I realized I'd actually been "writing" the bare and stunted versions of my stories even then. It honestly never occurred to me to not write since it's always been a part of me. I didn't fully commit to writing as a profession with the desire to share my stories until 2009.
2. What's your favorite book?
I don't think I could pick a favorite book. Every year I discover a new story and author that I enjoy, that impacts me enough that I still think on it months and months after the read. From last year it was Ruta Sepetys, Out of The Easy. I haven't discovered a title in 2015 yet that affected me the way that story did.
3. What's your favorite children's book?
I do have certain titles that changed me, shaped me, into the reader I am today and influenced me as a writer. Bunnicula gave me a first love of paranormal characters and stories as a small child, The Hobbit was my first love affair with a world so fantastic that I find something new to adore with that series on every re-read.
4. What inspired this story line?
Neely and Hayden, their interactions and conversations, inspired their specific parts of the story. They've been talking inside my head for a very long time. The kind of old friends where all the people in their circle would eye roll and want to scream "go out with each other already!" if they were real people walking around in the world. Then there's Andrew, and more specifically, Margarette. Their appearance shook the entire situation up and gave Neely and Hayden the conflict they needed to become a fully developed story. The poem in the back of Unwilling was the moment of inspiration that the story pivoted on it's axis for me with the question of the rest of the story.
5. How did you make the choice to self/trad publish?
Once I decided to share this story with readers, I realized very quickly I did not possess the technical knowledge, funds, or necessary self-editing skills needed in order to produce the level of quality I wanted for this series. I won't put my name on just anything. I needed to be utterly proud of the end result in order to survive the publication process. The product produced by my partnership with Blue Tulip Publishing is something I am completely proud of. They made the process more pleasant that I've ever expected. It took a very long time for fate to bring Liza Tice and myself together at RT14, but the experience was well worth the wait to get the chance to work with BTP.
6. Can we expect more from you in the future?
Absolutely! The second book in Unwilling's series, Unloved, is in the process of being edited. The third book in that series will be revised while Unloved is in the publication process. I also have a BDSM erotica on submission and another single title paranormal NA complete and ready to be edited. There are five other manuscripts waiting in the wings for a home too, all in various stages of revision.
7. Who has been your biggest supporter?
I have an amazing group of friends and family that I couldn't survive the publication process without. Each one brings something wonderful to my life and I'm incredibly thankful for them daily. I can only hope I show them all the same level of love and friendship they give to me.
8. Most and least favorite parts of being a writer?
Creating is my most favorite part of writing, disappearing into the worlds and characters. It's a level of escapism that you can only achieve with writing and addictive.
Least favorite used to be revision so I had to teach myself to enjoy the process. It was a battle those first few years but I actually enjoy revision now. So the only struggle I really have with the process now is working within the time it takes to get all my work done around life and responsibility. Time management has at times had to get very creative at times to meet goals.
9. Biggest hurdle?
I don't have the best grammar skills and I struggle in revision with that through every single book. But not so much skill, because those can be learned, but more I lacked the confidence I could learn and apply. Then accomplish to produce a book with as few mistakes as humanly possible.
10. pet peeve?
Disorganization, drives me bonkers.
11. Favorite Disney princess?
Okay, this is the hardest question by far for two reasons:

a. I have nothing but boys in my house and we don't do princess type things
b. I wasn't very princessy as a kid
But after researching this a bit, taking conference with my bestie Mel, I pick Merida. Her red, curly hair and blue eyes I identify with easily and her tomboyish ways are right up my alley.
